La Liga starts with Sevilla derby on June 12th
The restart of Spanish professional football is said to have been strapped down for June 12. As the radio station Cope reports on Thursday, the season in La Liga, which has been interrupted since March 12, will continue with the city derby between FC Sevilla and Betis Sevilla. Kick-off should be either at 8:45 p.m. or 9:00 p.m.
On Saturday, Athletic Bilbao would meet Atletico Madrid and record champions Real Madrid would play for international Toni Kroos against SD Eibar. Champions FC Barcelona with national goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen would compete at RCD Mallorca on Sunday - the final schedule will be published on May 28th.
Eleven match days before the end of the season, Barcelona are two points ahead of Real at the top of the table. Javier Tebas, President of La Liga, has estimated the financial loss in the event of a season break to be around one billion euros.
