Bookmark McQueen for the upcoming long weekend

One of fashion’s most compelling documentaries is making its way to Dubai this month.

McQueen will screen at cultural hub Alserkal Avenue from Friday 28th September to Wednesday 3rd October.

The documentary is part of “Alserkal Lates”, which runs film screenings spanning foreign films, documentaries and horror flicks from 24th September.

Eight years after late British fashion designer Lee Alexander McQueen’s death, the documentary, directed by Ian Bonhote and Peter Ettedgui, offers viewers an intimate insight into his world. 25 interviews with family members were conducted

McQueen charts the rise and fall of his rise to fame, from starting out as a teen apprentice on Saville Row, putting on shows with cling film while surviving on government benefits, succeeding Galliano at Givenchy, his years at Gucci and his legacy on the British fashion landscape.

His posthumous exhibition at the Met Museum of Art “Savage Beauty” was the eighth most popular show in the museum’s history.
