Nick Jonas to perform at Dubai festival
Nick Jonas has recommitted himself to his Dubai fans, announcing he would headline a Fiesta De Los Muertos gig on October 26.
The show will take place at 117 Live Arena, previously known as the Autism Rocks Arena.
Jonas was last year slated to headline the very same Halloween-themed event, but cancelled due to unspecified reasons. He was replaced by rapper Stormzy.
At the time, Jonas promised his fans he would return the following year.
“I was really looking forward to meeting my fans in Dubai... However, I regret to announce that I am now unable to perform this year. I hope to be a part of the Halloween concert next year,” he had said in a statement.
Now it seems like the hit-maker, who recently got engaged to Bollywood megastar Priyanka Chopra, is making good on his word.
The 26-year-old rose to fame with his brothers, Joe and Kevin, as the boyband Jonas Brothers. When the group disbanded five years ago, he embarked on a solo career, releasing successful pop-R’n’B tracks such as Jealous, Close and Right Now with Robin Schulz.
He will be joined at the festival by Gente De Zona, Chantel Jeffries, Hollaphonic and the Fiesta De Los Muertos mainstay cover band, The Mariachis.
Gente De Zona, a Cuban reggaeton group, are best known for La Gozadera, which has more than a billion hits on YouTube.
“We are honestly thrilled to be back for our third year,”said Mohammed Khammas, group CEO of Al Ahli Holding Group and owner of 117Live. “We are working hard towards creating more memorable experiences to make 2019 our best one to date.”
117 Live Arena is a dry venue and the festival is open to all ages, though under-12s must be accompanied by an adult.
Early Bird tickets will be released in batches, beginning with Dh250 passes for 24 hours starting October 7. Regular ticket prices are Dh345 for general admission and Dh900 for VIP.
