Bella Hadid fronts Bvlgari's latest handbag collaboration
Bvlgari might have a long history of creating beautiful things, but they have always managed to stay relevant, and nothing shows this more than their recent Gen-Z-friendly collaboration with the co-founder of edgy brand Ambush, Yoon Ahn.
Translating the effortlessly cool attitude of the Tokyo-based brand to the Roman Maison has resulted in zesty-coloured handbags available in three new shapes: the multi-wearable Serpenti shoulder bag with chunky metallic details; the versatile Serpenti belt bag; and the heart-shaped Serpenti Minaudière.
Inspired by a Tree Python of South East Asia, a species famed for its striking, artificial-looking colours, the limited edition Ambush x Bvlgari pieces are available in bold tones of pink, blue and green as well as minimalist-friendly hues of black and white.
Shapes are a little more plush and relaxed, with softer lines and quilted leather detail that deliver an urban-glam mood. They all also feature a camouflage snakehead closurein mother-of-pearl for the black renditions and in black onyx for the coloured ones.
“For this capsule collection I wanted to express the bold and contemporary character of Serpenti. Snakes are wondrous and fascinating creatures of nature but with Bvlgari they also became a symbol of glamour in constant evolution. Natural beauty meets human creation, all guided by a contemporary aesthetic.”
Exclusive collaboration also includes accessories: a heart-shaped coin case, three different credit card holders singed with the BVLGARI AMBUSH logo and a three-coil Serpenti bracelet in coloured Nappa Leather and metallic snakehead.
Grown up with pop culture, which moulded her open mind and diverse creativity, Yoon is famed for her real-life inspired creations with high-end touch.
She is the latest “Serpenti through the eyes of…”collaborator. Previously Bvlgari has worked with Alexander Wang and Nicholas Kirkwood.
“Serpenti through the eyes of Ambush…” collection is available to pre-order at Bulgari.com and will be launched in-store from September 3.
